Hermes Franca vs. Gleison Tibau at UFC 90

UFC lightheavyweight Hermes Franca will face American Top Team fighter Gleison Tibau in October at UFC 90.

The fight will likely be part of the the undercard since both fighters are coming from back-to-back losses. The event takes place on OCtober 25 at the Allstate Arena just outside Chicago.

The bout was originally reported by sherdog.com earlier today.

Franca lost his first fight since his suspension on July 19, 2008 to Frankie Edgar by unanimous decision but earned a $25,000 "Fight of the Night" bonus.

Tibau was coming off a 4 fight win streak (3 in the UFC) before losing to Tyson Griffin and Joe Stevenson.

A win is key for both Franca and Tibau to get back into contendership in the lightweight division.

I don't know how many fights both these fighters have on their contract, but this might be do or die for both of them. Tibau is HUGE compared to Franca but if Hermes comes in shape I believe he can submit Tibau if taken to the ground.
