 Georges St. Pierre and Jon Fitch picked up Fight of the Night honors at UFC 87 and each took home an extra $60,000 in bonuses for their 5 round war.
In his toughest test to date in the Octogon, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert Demian Maia won Submission of the Night for his rear naked choke win in the third round over Jason MacDonald.

 UFC 87: Seek & Destroy was held on August 9, 2008 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The card was headlined by welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and number one contender Jon Fitch. As a co-main event WWE superstar Brock Lesnar battled it out against PRIDE veteran Heath Herring.

 The weigh-ins for Saturday's UFC 87: "Seek & Destroy were held at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The same venue which will host tomorrow's event.
Fitch stated, "I feel better than I've ever felt in my entire life. This is the best training camp I've ever had. In the past six months I've made big strides and gains in my technique. I'm ready for this fight. The only thing that matters right now is that belt."

 The winner of Affliction's second show "Day of Reckoning" main event bout between Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett is guaranteed a shot at WAMMA heavyweight title-holder Fedor Emelianenko later this year.
Affliction Vice President Tom Atencio hinted at the possibility ever since Barnett replaced Emelianenko at the upcoming event, and the World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts today issued a press release confirming that the Arlovski vs. Barnett bout will be a "WAMMA Elimination fight."

 A bout between Nate Marquardt and Martin Kampmann has been officially announced and set to take place at UFC 88: "Breakthrough" on Sept. 6, 2008 at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kampmann is coming off a first round win over Jorge Rivera. The Xtreme Couture fighter came back after over a one year layoff to defeat Rivera via guillotine choke.

 Former IFL lightweight fighter Chris Horodecki (12-1) has signed a three-fight deal with Affliction and is set to debut at Affliction's Oct. 11 show at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Aleksander Emelianenko (13-3) will not be part of the organization's second event.

 Titor Ortiz has agreed to a contract with Affliction. A deal the 33-year-old former UFC light heavyweight champion calls "ground-breaking record contract."

"I guarantee you that my contract will be like no other," said Ortiz, stopping short of giving away the specifics of a deal that could include responsibilities outside of the ring.

 UFC lightheavyweight Hermes Franca will face American Top Team fighter Gleison Tibau in October at UFC 90.
The fight will likely be part of the the undercard since both fighters are coming from back-to-back losses. The event takes place on OCtober 25 at the Allstate Arena just outside Chicago.

 Medical suspensions for Sunday's WEC 35 event have been handed out bythe Nevada State Athletic Commission. The event took place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Most of the suspensions stemmed from knockout losses and were for precautionary reasons.

 The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the list of salaries for WEC 35.
With his successful title defense against Hiromitsu Miura, Carlos Condit tops the event's base salary at $44,000.
The event took place on August 3, 2008 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and aired live on versus.
